Working with Focus Timer

Give one task a fixed 25-minute window and keep the remaining time in view, including in the browser tab title while the timer runs. Pause if you are interrupted and resume from where you stopped. When the beep sounds, review what you finished before starting the next session.

What to expect from the result

Session lengths are fixed at 25, 5 and 15 minutes. The timer does not block distracting sites or track activity in other apps. Browsers can delay the end beep in a hidden tab, although the countdown itself stays accurate.

How do I use Focus Timer?

Press Start to begin a 25-minute focus session and work on one task until the beep. Then select Short Break, or Long Break after every fourth session, and press Start again. Turn on the auto-start toggles if you want the next session to start by itself.

Does pausing reset the focus timer?

No, pausing keeps the remaining time, and Start resumes the countdown from where it stopped. Reset returns the current session to its full length, and selecting a different mode starts that mode from its full length.

What happens when a focus session ends?

When a focus session ends, the timer beeps if Sound is on, adds one to Pomodoros Completed and stops at 00:00. With Auto-start breaks turned on, it starts the next break straight away instead: a 5-minute Short Break, or the 15-minute Long Break after every fourth session.
