SQLite Online
A private SQLite playground: create a database or open your own, write SQL and see results instantly.
- Real SQLite engine
- New or existing database
- Save as .sqlite
- No sign-up
Drop a .sqlite, .sqlite3 or .db file here, or start with the sample shop database or an empty one.
Run SQLite online
This is the real SQLite engine compiled to WebAssembly, running in your browser tab. Start with an empty database or the sample shop data, or open your own file, then write any SQL SQLite supports: CREATE TABLE, INSERT, UPDATE, joins, CTEs, window functions and JSON functions. Results appear in a sortable grid with timings, multiple statements run in order, and you can download the database at any point to keep your work.
How to run SQLite online
- Choose New database, Try the sample, or Open File.
- Write SQL in the editor; run several statements at once.
- Press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac) or Run.
- Export results as CSV or JSON, or download the database.
Tips for SQLite files
- If the app is still running, copy its database first: open files can be locked or incomplete.
- A file ending in -wal holds recent changes; open the database after the app has closed so they are merged.
- Use PRAGMA table_info(name) or the Structure tab to see column types; SQLite types are flexible, so check the data too.
- Download database saves your SQL changes as a new file; the original is never modified.
Why use this SQLite Online
- Full SQLite SQLRun any query the real SQLite engine supports, including joins, window functions, JSON functions and CTEs, with results you can sort and export.
- Starts instantlyNo account, no server and no setup: the database lives in your tab.
- Export and saveDownload any table or query result as CSV or JSON, and save the edited database as a new .sqlite file.
- Your database stays on your deviceThe file is opened by SQLite compiled to WebAssembly, running in your browser. App data, chat histories and customer records are never uploaded.
Handy SQLite queries
- List every table and view
SELECT name, type FROM sqlite_master WHERE type IN ('table', 'view') ORDER BY name;- Columns of a table
PRAGMA table_info(orders);- Top 10 by a value
SELECT customer, sum(total) AS spent FROM order_totals GROUP BY customer ORDER BY spent DESC LIMIT 10;- Find duplicates
SELECT email, count(*) FROM customers GROUP BY email HAVING count(*) > 1;- Check integrity
PRAGMA integrity_check;
Common uses
- Learning SQL. Practise with the sample shop data.
- Prototyping. Try a schema before adding it to your app.
- Interview prep. Test queries quickly.
- Quick analysis. Load a CSV into a table with INSERT and query it.
Related tools: the SQL formatter, CSV viewer, Parquet viewer and JSON viewer.
Example: a quick table
Choose New database and run CREATE TABLE notes (id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, body TEXT); INSERT INTO notes (body) VALUES ('Hello'); SELECT * FROM notes; – the result appears below the editor.
What to expect from the result
The database is loaded into memory, so very large files are limited by your browser. Encrypted (SQLCipher) databases are not supported. The grid shows the first 200,000 rows of a table; use SQL to reach the rest.
SQLite Online questions
Can I run SQL online without installing anything?
Yes. This page runs SQLite in your browser. Create a new database or open a file and start typing SQL.
Which SQL features work?
Everything in SQLite 3: joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, JSON functions, triggers, views and foreign keys.
Is my work saved?
It stays in the tab until you close it. Choose Download database to keep a .sqlite file you can open again later.
Which files can I open?
Any SQLite 3 database, usually .sqlite, .sqlite3, .db or .db3, including Android and iOS app databases, browser history files, GeoPackage (.gpkg) and MBTiles. Encrypted SQLCipher databases cannot be opened.
Is my database uploaded?
No. The database is opened by SQLite running as WebAssembly in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and changes stay in the tab until you download them.
