What is an age calculator?
An age calculator works out how old someone is from their date of birth, down to the day. It also answers related questions: how old will I be on a certain date, how many days have I been alive, what day of the week was I born, and how long until my next birthday. Your birth date stays in the browser tab; it is never sent anywhere.

How age is calculated
- Age counts whole years since the last birthday, then whole months, then days.
- People born on 29 February turn a year older on 28 February in common years in this calculator. Legal rules vary by country.
- Total weeks and days count every day from birth to the chosen date.
- Some cultures count age differently, for example traditional East Asian age reckoning; this calculator uses the international standard.

Example: age on a cut-off date
A child born on 14 October 2020 applies to a school with a 1 September 2026 cut-off. Set “Age on this date” to 1 September 2026: the child is 5 years, 10 months and 18 days old, so still 5 on the cut-off date.
What to expect from the result
Age is calculated on calendar dates in your time zone, not the exact time of birth. Historic dates use the Gregorian calendar even before countries adopted it.
