What is a days between dates calculator?
A days between dates calculator counts how many days separate two dates. It is the quickest way to answer “how many days until my holiday?”, “how long have we been together?” or “how many days is this contract?”. It gives the total days plus a breakdown in years, months and days, weeks and hours, and the number of weekdays in the period.
How to use Days Between Dates Calculator
- Choose the start date. It is today unless you change it.
- Choose the end date, or use a shortcut such as +90 days or Until Christmas.
- Tick “Include the end date” if both the first and last day should count.
- Read the total days and the breakdown. Copy the result if you need it.
Counting days correctly
- By default the start date is not counted: from Monday to Wednesday is 2 days, just like “2 sleeps until Wednesday”.
- Tick “Include the end date” to count both ends: Monday to Wednesday becomes 3 days, as for a 3-day event.
- The years, months and days breakdown steps whole months, so 31 January to 1 March is 1 month and 1 day.

Press “Until Christmas” to count from today to 25 December. On 27 September 2026 that is 89 days: 2 months and 28 days, or 12 weeks and 5 days. Each day the count goes down by one.
What to expect from the result
The months figure in the breakdown list is an average (30.44 days) for comparison. The years, months and days sentence is exact. Time zones do not affect the count because only calendar dates are used.
