Tips for the most realistic handwritten look
- Keep natural variation between 40 and 70. Too little looks like a font, and too much looks messy.
- Match line spacing to the ruled lines: with the default font size, 55–62 sits naturally on notebook paper.
- Use blue or dark-blue ink with the ruled notebook, and pencil with grid paper for maths or diagrams.
- A slant of 3–6 degrees makes cursive styles look faster and more natural.
- Turn on the scanned-page effect when the result will be shared as an image or PDF rather than printed.

Can I use the generated handwriting commercially?
The fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0, both of which allow commercial use of images you create. The images you generate are yours to use in cards, products and designs.
Can it copy my own handwriting?
No. The generator uses pre-made handwriting fonts. It doesn't learn or imitate a particular person's handwriting, and it shouldn't be used to forge anyone's writing or signature.
How do I get a transparent or plain background?
Choose Plain white paper for a clean background. The export is a standard PNG or PDF. To use the lettering on a coloured design, remove the white background in an image editor, or use our background remover.
What's the difference between this and the text to handwriting converter?
