Converting PSD to PNG
PNG is lossless and supports transparency, so it is the natural export for Photoshop artwork with see-through areas: logos, icons, cut-outs and UI elements. This converter reads the PSD in your browser, shows the result first, and saves a full-resolution or scaled PNG. Need the pieces? Export every layer as its own transparent PNG, cropped to the layer, in a single ZIP.
How to convert PSD to PNG
- Open the .psd file.
- Hide any layers you do not want in the export.
- Keep PNG selected and choose 100%, 50% or 25% size.
- Click Download PNG, or All layers (ZIP) for separate layers.
Good to know about PSD files
- For the most accurate preview, save PSDs with File → Preferences → File Handling → Maximize PSD Compatibility.
- Fonts are listed by their PostScript names; install them before editing the text elsewhere.
- Hidden layers in the file start hidden here too; click the eye to show them.
- Smart objects show their rendered content; the embedded originals are not extracted.
Why use this PSD to PNG converter
- Real transparencyTransparent areas stay transparent in the PNG, so logos and cut-outs drop onto any background.
- See every layerBrowse the layer tree with groups, blend modes and opacity, hide layers to check the composition, and save any layer as a transparent PNG.
- Export in one clickDownload PNG, JPG or WebP at full size or scaled down, or every layer as PNGs in a ZIP.
- Your designs stay privateFiles are opened in your browser and never uploaded, so client artwork and unreleased designs stay on your computer.

Example: exporting a logo with a transparent background
Open a logo PSD, hide the background layer with the eye icon, and download a PNG: only the logo remains, on a transparent background.
What to expect from the result
Layer effects (shadows, strokes), masks and adjustment layers are not applied when the image is rebuilt from layers. CMYK and 32-bit documents may not display correctly. Very large PSB files are limited by browser memory.
PSD to PNG Converter questions
How do I convert PSD to PNG?
Open the PSD, keep PNG selected under Export and click Download PNG.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. Transparent pixels stay transparent. Hide the background layer first if the PSD has a solid background.
Can I extract layers from a PSD?
Yes. Click the download icon next to a layer, or All layers (ZIP) to save every layer as a transparent PNG.
Why does my PSD look different from Photoshop?
Photoshop saves a flattened preview when “Maximize compatibility” is on, and that is shown exactly. Without it, or when you hide layers, the image is rebuilt from the layers, and layer effects, masks and adjustment layers are not applied.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is read and rendered in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
