There is no true “rotate” in plain text, so upside down text replaces each character with a Unicode look-alike that appears rotated 180°, for example a → ɐ, e → ǝ and h → ɥ, and reverses the order so the line reads correctly when the screen is turned around. Capitals, digits and common punctuation are included. Paste upside down text back in and it flips the right way up again.
